Q: I'm getting a 13.20 JAM IN TRAY 2 error message in my hp laser 4350 before I print. When I turn the printer on it goes through its motions and then just displays the 13.20.00 error on the display. Some of the actions I have taken have been the replacement of the paper tray 2 and the 4350 fuser assembly. It appeared that those printer parts were damaged by the removal of the paper jam. Upon visual inspection the printer seems free of any stuck paper as well as all of the paper sensor flags are functioning as they should be. I have heard that a DC controller can cause a 13.20.00 paper jam in the hp laser 4350 printer. Is that something that I should replace?

Q: My Hp laserjet 4350 pulls multiple pages and then paper jams. It only seems to happen from tray 1. When I print from tray two it does not pull multiple pages. If I put a stack of 10 pages it will pull all of them in and then jam as the paper makes it halfway in. I then have to open the toner cartridge access lid and then pull the toner out and then remove the paper. I am using the same type of paper I have always used and it never used to do this in the past. A: My first suggestions in regards to hp laserjet 4350 pulling multiple pages and then paper jamming is always to make sure the forms or media that you are using is not stuck together. I have seen pre-printed media have this problem. Since though we have moved passed that I would recommend replacing the tray 1 feed kit, which includes the pickup roller and separation pad, to resolve the multiple page jam. If the media does fall into spec then I would recommend replacing the tray 1 pickup roller and separation pad.

Q: We have an hp laser 4350 printer smudging the print. We have had this laser printer for roughly 2 years and it has always been a solid trustworthy printer. I have read that laser 4350 preventative maintenance kits should be used every 200,000 pages to keep the print quality and printing process as a whole on the up and up. I’m not sure how to check how many pages have been printed, and is a preventative maintenance kit something that could fix my hp laserjet 4350 smudging problem?

The amount of time between services is not as important as the amount of printing that has been done. Q: I have an HP laserjet 4350 that crunches and crumples the paper then the printer says paper jam. When I open the toner access lid that reveals the toner cartridge I pull out the toner and find the paper folded up kind of like an accordion. The paper is fanned and crumpled up behind the fuser. When I pull out the paper the toner is not stuck to the page and smears right off. Before the printer started to paper jam and fold up it was making a loud noise. It sounded like the gears weren’t turning properly.
A: Well to start whenever hp laser 4350 printers have paper jams in a way that the paper is crunched, crumpled, wrinkled, folded, accordion, it will mean that something is impeding the advancement of the media along the paper path. The fact that the printer was making a loud grinding noise is a very important clue. Typically with the hp laser 4350 printers you will find that the swing plate assemblies, those gear assemblies that engage and drive the fusers, will wear out and cause grinding noises as well as paper jams. I would be willing to bet that either the gears on the swing plate assembly and or fuser assembly have worn out or are broken. Remove the fuser assembly and inspect the main drive gear. The removal of the fuser also gives way to the swing plate gears. A visual inspection of those gears will also be adequate to determine its condition. A recommended fuser replacement as well as swing plate assembly will no doubt fix your problem.
