Q: Our hp laser 4300 says perform printer maintenance on the control panel. We have had the hp printer for many years and it has worked fine and really is still working fine outside of the perform maintenance message on the control panel. I was wondering if this is a message that we can simply clear or is there maintenance that needs to be performed so as not to damage the printer.
A: There are different versions of the perform printer maintenance message amongst hp laser printers, though they all more or less mean the same thing. In the case of the hp laserjet 4300 perform printer maintenance message it simply means that it is time to install a maintenance kit. There is an internal counter in the printer that after so many pages printed will prompt the machine to display the perform maintenance message. This simply means that the maintenance kit parts have reached the end of their life and need to be replaced. Doing so will ensure your hp laserjet 4300 continues to run as the company has intended.
Q: Our hp laserjet 4300 has a fuser error 50.1 on the display panel. The printer was running fine the day before and the next morning when we went to print we noticed the attention light was on with the message reading fuser error 50.1 on the display panel. We have tried resetting the printer, but to no avail. How do we clear the fuser error 50.1 on our hp 4300 so we can continue to print?
A: A 50.1 fuser error with the laserjet 4300 printers is a common error and simply means that there was a problem with what is called the fuser assembly. The hp laser 4300 fuser assembly is the part in the printer that combines heat and pressure to bond the toner to the paper. If there is a malfunction in the fuser which inhibits it from attaining its intended temperature the printer will shut down and display an error 50.1. The causes can range from the fuser assembly to the power supply and finally the dc controller. A certified technician can determine which is causing the problem and take the necessary action
Q: Our hp laser 4300 is displaying a fuser error 50.2 on the display panel. After having done some research I was wondering if this is not unlike the fuser error 50.1 and if there is any real difference between the two. Does anyone have any suggestions?
A: You are right in assuming that the fuser error 50.2 for the laser 4300 is like the fuser error 50.1 in the sense that one would assume the three parts (fuser assembly, power supply and dc controller.) A certified hp technician can determine which and take the appropriate action
Q: Our hp laserjet 4300 has started showing the error 60.2 on the display panel. Has anyone heard of that or does anyone know what a hp laser 4300 error 60.2 means?
A: HP laser 4300 error 60.2 problems indicate that their has been a malfunction with the lifter motor in the tray 2. This can be caused by a faulty lifter motor or a component that is causing the lifter motor to malfunction. An inspection of the lifter motor and all those parts that the lifter motor engages typically will reveal the cause of the error 60.2
Q: Our hp laser 4300 is making a grinding noise when we are printing. It has been making a grinding noise for some time though it is gradually getting worse and worse. The printer seems to be working fine though it is really starting to sound like something is about to give. I have heard that hp laser 4300 making grinding noise is a relatively common problem. How do we go about repairing this issue
A: HP laserjet 4300 making grinding noise is a common problem and is typically isolated down to a couple parts. One being the hp laser 4300 fuser assembly and the other being the hp laser 4300 swing plate assembly. The two engage each other and can when the gears wear, make the noises that you are describing. By replacing those you will sure fix your hp 4300 grinding noise problem
Q: Our hp laserjet 4300 lost its network connection the other day and I was wondering if there are any known problems with these printers that can cause them to do this? I have since tested the network ports and the cables though they are working just fine. Ideas?
A: It is not uncommon for hp laserjet 4300 printers to loose their network connectivity especially since they were outfitted with the 615 network cards. Try printing the network configuration settings. They most likely will not be available. This being the case we will probably be looking at a faulty network card or if not a faulty formatter.
